CITY OF MATI LAUNCHES MASAMASID
Creating an enabling peaceful environment and deeply involving the community in suppressing anomalies and unscrupulous practices especially in the government, the City of Mati launched the Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Anomaliya, Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Iligal na Droga or better known as MASA MASID at Honey’s Hotel, Matiao City of Mati on 3 November 2016.
Initiated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Liga ng mga Barangay, People’s Organizations and Faith based organizations, MASA MASID is a community-based initiative to engage volunteers in the fight against criminality, corruption and illegal drugs.
It aims to heighten the community involvement by mobilizing the support of local stakeholders, volunteers groups and private sector through massive education campaign, information dissemination and reporting mechanism on illegal activities in the locality, down to the grassroots level.
Spearheaded by CLGOO Nida Muya, City Government of Mati represented by Peace and Order Committee Chair Councilor Noli Balugo, Liga ng mga Barangay President Antonieto Arles, Diocese of Mati Apostolic Administration Fr. Edito Baño and CSO Council President Annie Gasapin, MASA MASID has made bold manifestations of support in the fight against illegalities through the signing of Memorandum of Agreement and the Unity Statement.
