Donors flocked at SP Session Hall, City Hall Compound of the City of Mati during the 4th Mula sa Puso Bloodletting Activity of Mayor Carlo P. Rabat on Saturday, 14 January 2017.
The uniformed personnel from the Philippine Army of the 28th Infantry Battalion and its Reserved Command under 1104th Reserve Community Defense Group, Philippine Coast Guard Mati Station and its Auxiliary Squadron, the Public Safety Company of the Davao oriental Provincial Police Office were mostly the donors of the said activity.
The activity sets the necessary preparation for the upcoming 2nd surgical mission on the last week of this month with the MEDLEND Foundation.
MEDLEND Foundation is a US-based foundation of a group of doctors, nurses and volunteers who provides medical missionary activities to foreign countries. Fortunately, in the Philippines, City of Mati is once again privileged to be a beneficiary of their activities after their successful mission conducted last January 2015.
The bloodletting activity also served the launching across the country of the semi-annual mobile blood donation program of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross.
