In his desire to be of greater service to the people of Mati especially to the less privileged, Mayor Carlo Rabat in partnership with a US based foundation extended an early Christmas greetings through a gift giving to the special children of RRMCES-SPED Center.
After the assessment and evaluation of special needs, students from SPED Center were chosen to be beneficiaries of 10 units of Go-Talk-Express 32 and Apple-iPad to facilitate easy and better learning procedure.
Go-Talk-Express, worth Php15,000 each, is a portable augmentative and alternative communication device where you can play multiple messages in sequence and in vernacular. It is very easy to use yet also powerful picture communicator.
On the other hand, since transmission of knowledge especially to the children with special needs is highly complex, a special technology and dynamic display communication tool is as well most necessary. Thus, iPad was purposely willed because of its expressive, dynamic and fun features. Thanks also to Apple for making it more personal, more powerful and more playful.
Upon the request and determination of Mayor Carlo, the communication tools were donated through the Fenixia Foundation represented by its Board of Director Ms. Lisa Valerio by Ms. Jenny Floreindo who is also a Board of Director of the same foundation. This is the offshoot of the successful Children Mission by a group of occupational therapists and volunteers from the USA sometime on July 2016.
As a token of appreciation and gratitude, the faculty members and parents of SPED Center handed over personalized T-shirts to the missionaries.
To our friends and partners in realizing our platform of continuing progress, our mission continues.
