On the occasion of the Provincial Cacao Industry Research Development & Extension Consultation, Promotion and Investment Forum on 11-12 August at Honey’s Hotel, Mayor Carlo Rabat received the Bottom-Up-Budgeting project viz. provision of corn hammer mill and corn mill in the amount of P 700,000.00 and hand tractor and tresher P 500,000.00.
Being an agri-tourism-based economy, the city took advantage of the opportunity to boost the cacao industry as a major source of livelihood for our farmer producers as well as for our prospective local processors and entrepreneurs of other high value cacao-based products.
With this, Mayor Carlo is optimistic that the prospects are bright with the developmental support programs on production, processing, financing and the application of updated technologies in sustaining the industry.
